Would You Pray for Me?

My grandmother is nearing the end of her life. She's 88 years old and in the hospital, but under hospice care. They've given her hours - days to live and she is in pain, but unable to swallow to take the pain medication she needs. She's not real responsive, has not been eating for a few days now and as of yesterday her kidneys are failing.  She's in Iowa and I have reservations to go tomorrow to visit her one last time.

Please pray...

...that I make it before she goes.
...that I am able to comfort her in some way.
...for me as I have to fly into Chicago and then drive 3 1/2 hours to Cedar Rapids because I'm nervous about doing it alone. (This from someone who used to travel for a living!)
...for my husband who is also traveling and will get home after I've already gone tomorrow.

And... rejoice with me, because soon she will reach out and clasp the hand of Jesus and go to her heavenly home!

THANK YOU dear friends :)

Much Love and Many Blessings,
Heidi

  4. Praying...his peace will wrap around you, and all will go as he planned. Is someone in the room with her? i was just thinking if I were her i would love to have someone read me some verses,, even by phone. Maybe you can have the nurses put the phone to her ear for 5 minutes while you give her your love and Jesus's promises,,, just encase you dont make it there in time?? Something to think about, Love you!

  5. I'm so so sorry about your grandmother. Most of all, I'm sorry she is in pain. I hope that some creative solution can be found to help her take her pain meds so she is as comfortable as possible at this time. Also, I know how important it is to see someone for that last time - I do hope you get there in time.

  6. You and your grandmother are absolutely in my prayers Heidi; That you feel the comfort of Christ's Arms around you, and that she passes to God's Kingdom without pain or fear.

Have a Blessed Day Dear Lady.
