Held In the Grips of God, Kelli Zaniel

What does it mean to be touched by an Almighty God?

A “touched by God moment,” is undeniable, unimaginable, and indescribable. When God allows us to experience His Holy presence, we are never the same. Our mediocre moments are interrupted by His magnificent. God’s love explodes into our lives. It’s transforming. It’s life-changing. We are motivated to become more than the status quo.

This God movement is a sparkle of light shimmering in the midst of a gloomy day. It’s butterflies in your stomach. It’s a roller-coaster rush. Seemingly, the natural collides with the supernatural. Time stands still as creation looks into the eyes of its Creator.

Being held in the grips of God provides security, joy, and significance. We catch a glimpse of His perspective. We see a glimmer of hope.

These teachable moments reactivate us, rearrange us and refine us. Our wordly whine is replaced with a godly shine. Our numbness fades and suddenly we’re in awe of every mountain He’s ever moved. The Word of God that once seemed watered down is now gloriously alive. It speaks to us. It moves through us.

It seems as though we are soaring but our feet never leave the ground. We feel super-human. We want to give up everything for Him. We want to express our head-over-heels love for Him.

He speaks His heavenly agenda into our “me-driven” hearts. It brings meaning. It defines who we are.

A divine touch, a gentle nudge, or a soft whisper can happen anyplace, anywhere, at anytime. Yes girl, you can have a Jesus experience while your elbow high in greasy sink water, carpooling with road rage on your mind, or knee deep in heaping piles of laundry (clean or dirty-take your pick).

That’s one of the great things about God. He recruits unlikely people in unlikely places for Kingdom work. He’s always looking for just the right person for just the right mission.

I certainly don’t have it all figured out, but I know how it feels to be loved by Jesus, held by Jesus and even carried by Jesus. Have you ever been held in His merciful arms? Do you know how it feels to lose yourself in Him? If not please take a minute, bow your head, and boldly make your request known!

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me,” (Phil. 3:12 NIV).

  2. Just wanted to leave a comment thanking you and Heidi for your posts. They are always thought-provoking and challenge my spirit. I am here all the time reading (and wondering where y'all find the time to write) but I see that not many comments are left without prompting and don't know if you have way to track website traffic. So I just wanted you to know that I do come here almost daily.
