Be Imitators of Christ, Not Each Other...

"Let Nothing Dim the Light that Shines From Within"

How often do you compare yourself to other people?
The Bible says we are to be imitators of Christ, NOT each other. Therefore, our ambition should be to imitate Christ and nobody else!
“Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children” Ephesians 5:1 (NLT).
We are to imitate Christ in everything we do. We are to be like Jesus and talk like Jesus while we’re shopping, sweating, or serving. Why? Because we are his baby girls and he wants our actions, our thoughts, and our words to be reflective of him.
Happy WFW!

  1. Comparing will only lead to either becoming feeling superior or inferior and insecure. Thank you so much for this reminder... God bless you.

  2. I don't want to compare myself to others. As the above comment says, it only leads to feeling superior or inferior and insecure. But we need to compare ourselves to God. We are to strive to be like Him. Great reminder Kelli!

  3. I'd never thought about this verse this way before - imitating God means I don't imitate others! So true. Thanks for stopping by my place earlier :)

  4. Love that verse..Only person I will imitate will be Jesus. Oh I am so glad I don't have to compare myself with other people any longer. Before I found Jesus I compared myself to others. But glory to God I don't have to no more

  5. This is my heart's desire as well! Thank you. Just read this quote and thought it fit nicely.
"Some say that Jesus was a "rebel" because He didn't conform to this world. On the contrary, He was the most obedient one." Jesus imitated the Father...we are to do the same!

  6. Oh yes, such a simple model that we struggle so much with when we are consumed by our surroundings. O may nothing dim my light!

  8. We are to imitate Christ so that His name maybe known throughout the world. He is to be glorified, not us. I want to shine for Jesus.

  9. YES! Even unintentionally. Partly why I think it is so important to surround ourselves with Godly people, but yes the goal is certainly to be like Christ!
